What's all the fuss about?
Chlamydia is big!
Chlamydia is a bacteria that affects the sexual organs. Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection or STI for short. The problem is that most people have no signs or symptoms. So most of you wouldn't know you have it.
What is the Chlamydia Screening Programme?
The Government have set up a national screening programme to encourage young people to have a Chlamydia screen and get treatment if they need it.
Testing for Chlamydia:
- FREE screens are available to everyone aged under 25 years old
- Screens are done by you giving a simple urine sample (Please do not pass urine for 2 hours before the test)
- Screens are available at several places in the Northamptonshire area
- Tests are completely confidential
We can:
- Tell you the nearest place to get a test
- Look after you if your test is positive by giving you FREE treatment, support and advice
- Help you trace your sexual partners who may have been infected
